Is the free version crippled?
Not on an ordinary repository — every analysis feature works on your one project, including the MCP server and the editor extension. Three things do need Pro: reading a folder that holds several deployable apps as separate applications, switching the analysed git branch from the toolbar, and keeping your project loaded while you look at another page. If one repository is all you need, free is genuinely all you need.
What happens if I stop paying?
On the subscription, Pro features stop at the end of the period you paid for and you drop to the free tier with one project. Nothing is deleted. If you bought it outright, nothing stops at all: you keep every version you were entitled to, forever.
What does the renewal actually buy?
Twelve more months of updates, bought once when you want them — it is not a subscription and nothing is charged automatically. It is not a second licence and it is not required: skip it and Code Helper keeps working exactly as it did, buy it later and you pick up from whatever has shipped since.
Does buying Code Helper include Ambih Monitor?
No. They are separate products at separate prices. Monitor is a resource monitor for running processes, Code Helper reads the structure of your source. Owning one has no effect on the other.
Which one should I pick?
The subscription if you want the newest build without thinking about it. Buying once if you would rather own the software than rent it, and you expect to use it for more than a couple of years.
